July 4th – the Independence Day for cloud computing!

This week Protonet made a huge announcement – after four years of sweat and tears, after many, many sleepless nights in the office, after shipping 50 boxes in our public beta last year, after negotiations with suppliers and investors and a record breaking crowdfunding round on Seedmatch, after lots of hardware revisions and a complete redesign of our UI – finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel! Protonet will launch it’s 6th revision of the little orange box on july 4th! This date is not just a funny coincidence – it’s set by purpose. In the US, independence day marks the point in history where a small group of people succeeded over a vast, dominant system that was inherited for decades. The cloud computing space is not very different: mature players like Google, Dropbox or Microsoft are dominating the market and innovative startups that offer independent solutions are far away from winning huge shares. Protonet is facing obstacles as big as the Atlantic Ocean to be able to really compete but yet, is on a very healthy way. We know how to swim. Making servers easy has always been a horror scenario for cloud computing corporations – it means they are losing a part of their competitive advantage. Soon, SMEs all over the world will be able to work on their very own infrastructure without having the need of a system admin. They will be able to store data safely and work on a built-in team collaboration software: Protonet SOUL OS – the future operating system for servers. Accessible everywhere and anytime.

The 4th of july – the Independence Day for cloud computing – marks the official day where we raise the flag in public. Of course, we are aiming at a revolution. For those who are willing to help us to get there, we are willing to give something back. At the moment we are looking for the early birds. So if you are amongst those early adopters, get in touch – we have something special for you. For all the others: it’s OK to be second in line!
